Hosting and server logs
This archive is hosted on a privately operated server in Germany. Requests involve processing connection data required for delivery, including IP address, time, requested URL, HTTP status, amount of data transferred, browser identifier and, where supplied, referring page. These data support operation, troubleshooting and security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is reliable and secure operation of the archive.
Apache logs rotate daily with 14 previous rotations retained. Container logs are limited to three files of up to 10 MB each and overwritten when that limit is reached. Relevant extracts may be retained longer to investigate specific security incidents or pursue legal claims.
Session and appearance
The CMS may set a technically necessary session cookie for session management. Your chosen appearance is stored in browser local storage under “informatica-archive-theme” until you change or delete it. Selecting “System” follows your system preference. The browser evaluates this setting locally. Necessary storage is based on section 25(2)(2) TDDDG; technical processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If you contact us by email, we process your details to handle the enquiry under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. They are deleted once the enquiry is resolved unless statutory retention duties or legitimate reasons require further retention.
Historical material and external services
The archive contains historical articles and information about their authors. This supports scholarly documentation and attribution of published work under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. These details are retained for the duration of the archive. Please contact the controller about interests that may require protection.
Historical articles may include links and embedded resources from external providers. Following a link or loading such a resource may transmit your IP address to that provider. Its privacy information governs further processing. The image viewer, appearance control and Flash emulator are served locally by the archive.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
